How Much Does Junk Removal Cost in 2026? (Straight Answer, No Calculator)

Published July 2, 2026

Junk removal is priced by volume, meaning how much space your stuff takes up in the truck, and at Z Junk it starts at a $125 minimum for about an eighth of a truckload.

The final price is confirmed on-site. It can go up if access is tough or there is more volume than the photos showed, and it comes down if the load turns out smaller than we quoted. Either way, you see the number before we lift anything.

You see the number before we lift anything.

Why volume, not per item.

Honest junk removal pricing comes down to one thing: how much room your load takes in the truck. A single mattress fills less space than a garage packed with boxes, so it costs less. We price by the fraction of the truck you fill, from that eighth-of-a-truck minimum up to a full load. Per-item pricing sounds simpler, but it punishes you for having a lot of small stuff and it hides the real driver, which is space.

What the national numbers actually mean.

Industry figures commonly put a load somewhere around $75 to $800, but the only number that matters is the one for your pile. Those ranges are wide for a reason: the real number depends on volume and access, which is exactly why a price quoted before anyone sees the job is a guess, not a promise. Our $125 minimum is the honest floor, and it covers about an eighth of a truck.

The part most pricing pages skip.

A quote can move. If your driveway is a long carry, if there are stairs, or if the pile is bigger than it looked in the photo, the price goes up, and we tell you before we load, not after. If the load comes in smaller than quoted, the price comes down with it. There is no hourly meter, and no surprise fee tacked on at the end.

Why no calculator.

Some sites give you a calculator that spits out a number from a few dropdowns. We do not use one, because a dropdown cannot see your actual pile. A photo can. Send one and you get a real range from a real person instead of a guess from a form.

Local note.

We are based in Murrieta and serve Southwest Riverside County: Murrieta, Temecula, Wildomar, Menifee, Winchester, and Lake Elsinore. Prices here follow the same volume logic, so a Temecula garage cleanout and a Murrieta garage cleanout of the same size cost about the same. Local also means the person who quotes you is the person who shows up, so the number does not change hands three times before the truck arrives.

Get your actual number.

Send us a photo of your pile through the quote form on our site and we'll email you a price range within 2 hours between 7 AM and 5 PM, or the next business day after that. Prefer to talk it through first? Call (951) 574-2555 between 7 AM and 7 PM and a real person picks up.
